2021 Athlete Development Project for Irish athletes
Over the coming 12 months Elizabeth Egan will be offering the following support to young Irish athletes:
12 free online workshops (1 per month) across the year.
1 free online one-to-one lifestyle session (per person), including pre-meeting preparation and follow-up.
We'll also continue to provide online support at discounted prices:

Monthly Workshops
These sessions, run via MS Teams, will cover a range of Lifestyle and Personal Development topics, relevant to all performance athletes.
- The sessions are open to Irish athletes from any sport and at any level (if you train to compete, you're welcome along), aged between 16 and 24.
- The sessions are free, and you can sign up to as few or as many as you like.
- We ask that clubs DO NOT sign up multiple athletes to these sessions, but please do pass on the information to athletes that meet the criteria. We're happy to arrange tailored sessions for clubs and groups at reasonable rates. We want to reach athletes who wouldn't otherwise have access to this support.
- Sessions will not be recorded. Parents are welcome to attend with 16-18 year olds, but the emphasis is very much on supporting the athlete rather than the parent (we're happy to run specific sessions for parents of performance athletes).
- To sign up, simply complete the Eventbrite form for the sessions you intent to attend (link below description of each session). You will receive an MS Teams link/invite 24 hours before the session, to the email address you've provided on the sign-up form.

One-to-one sessions
Once eligible individuals have attended at least one workshop, they will receive information (via email) on how to avail of their free initial one-hour one-to-one session. One-to-one sessions allow us to explore topics discussed in workshops in more details, in a way which is specific to the individual, and to discuss any other topic which is relevant to the participant's life, within and outside of sport. Lifestyle sessions are particularly useful for those struggling to balance many demands; those going through major transitions, and those preparing for life after sport, but can be beneficial for any athlete at any stage. Information is shared in a non-judgmental, confidential space, and individuals are afforded a space in which to think out loud.
If you are not eligible for the free session, but would still like to explore this type of support, then please drop Elizabeth an email.
